Refund and cancellation policy
Last updated 18 September 2026
Tattooing and piercing are personal services performed on your body. Once work has been done it cannot be returned, so this policy is about the money paid before the needle, and about what we put right afterwards.
When we do refund you
- We cancel or move your appointment. Full refund of the advance, or a new date, your choice.
- You were charged twice, or charged the wrong amount. The difference comes back in full.
- The payment failed but the money left your account. It comes back, and we chase the bank with you.
- You paid for something we could not do on the day, for example a piercing we had to refuse on health grounds after payment.
- A product reached you faulty or sealed but damaged. Replaced, or refunded.
- You withdraw from a course before it starts. Full refund of the fee.
In those cases the money goes back the way it came, started within three working days.
The advance
- An advance of twenty per cent is asked only when you want a specific date, time and artist held for you, or when a custom design is drawn before your appointment. Walk in on the day and you pay in full then.
- The advance is not refundable. It holds chair time nobody else can book, and it pays for design hours already worked.
- It is not an extra. It comes off the total of your tattoo, so you never pay twice.
- You get the design. If you decide not to go ahead with us, the artwork you paid for is yours to take with you.
- We reschedule you once. Tell us at least 48 hours before your appointment and the advance carries to a new date, subject to availability. If a second appointment is missed the advance is forfeited, and we may decline further bookings.
- If we cancel or move your appointment, you choose: a new date with the advance carried, or the advance returned in full.
In practice, if something genuinely unavoidable has happened, talk to us. We would rather find a way than lose you over a date.
Work already done
Payment for a completed tattoo, piercing or session is not refundable. A tattoo is permanent and a piercing is made in the moment, and neither can be undone by returning it. If you are unhappy with how a piece has healed, tell us: the answer is usually a touch-up, not a refund.
Touch-ups
- Free touch-ups within six months of your session, where ink has not settled as it should and the aftercare we gave you was followed.
- Fingers and the back of the hand are not included. Those placements take daily washing, sun and constant wear, and fade whatever anyone does. We tell you before you sit down.
- Chargeable: damage from picking or scratching, sun, swimming pools, the gym, infection from neglected aftercare, and any change of mind about the design.
- Tell us the phone number the work was booked under, or bring your bill, so we can find the session.
Jewellery and aftercare products
- Body jewellery cannot be returned or exchanged once it has been sold or worn. This is a hygiene rule, not a commercial one.
- Sealed, unopened aftercare products can be returned or exchanged within seven days with the bill.
- If a product reaches you damaged or faulty, we replace it.
Academy course fees
- Withdraw before the course starts and the fee is refunded in full.
- Once teaching has begun the fee is not refundable, in part or in whole. Batches are capped at four students, so your seat and the artist's time are committed for the whole course.
- If we cancel a batch, or cannot run it on the dates agreed, you get a full refund or a place in the next batch, whichever you prefer.
Payment problems
- Charged twice for one session, or charged more than the quote: tell us and the extra is refunded in full.
- The payment failed but your account was debited: banks usually reverse this on their own within five working days. If it does not come back, send us the reference and we will raise it with our payment provider.
- Paid more than the advance before your appointment: the twenty per cent advance follows the rules above, and anything you paid above it is returned once the design work already done has been accounted for.
How a refund is paid
Where a refund is due under this policy, it goes back by the same route the money came in: to the card, UPI handle or bank account used. We start it within three working days of agreeing it, and your bank or card issuer usually takes a further five to seven working days. Cash payments are refunded in cash at the studio. We never make you take a credit note or a voucher instead of money.
